Globally renowned retail and technology expert joined leaders from NASA, General Electric, Coca-Cola and more at conference focused on women in the sciences

NEW YORK (June 6, 2016) – “Retail Technology’s Leading Lady” Deborah Weinswig, Managing Director of Fung Global Retail & Technology, will offer her unique perspective and advice for science-driven entrepreneurs when she speaks on “Compete to Succeed: Investing in Women-Led Startups” at the Women in STEM Summit, being held June 8 – 9, 2016, at the Fairmont San Francisco.

In her talk, scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 8, Weinswig will offer her thoughts on what it takes for female (and male) entrepreneurs to succeed in technology, based on her experience advising start-up firms. “As an analyst and advisor to retail-oriented technology firms, I’ve helped many entrepreneurs avoid obstacles that can derail promising ideas,” Weinswig says. “I’m eager to see new concepts, and help their creators avoid those pitfalls.”

The Women in STEM Summit gathers both men and women working in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) industries for two days of open-forum discussion on the role of women in this rapidly evolving and dynamic industry. Weinswig joins such other luminaries as Gale Allen, deputy chief scientist at NASA; Beena Ammanath, executive, data and analytics at General Electric; Wamwari Waichungo, vice president of global scientific affairs at Coca-Cola; and Jean Wong, global head of analytics at Google in speaking at the conference.

An advocate for innovation, creativity and the implementation of cutting-edge technologies, Weinswig joined Fung Global Retail & Technology (formerly part of FBIC Group) in 2014 to offer her unique viewpoints on the disruptive technology trends and innovations that are reshaping the global retail industry. Recent reports issued by Fung Global Retail & Technology include: “The Silver Wave: Understanding the Aging Consumer,” “Global Pet E-Commerce,” “The Internet of Things and the Apparel Industry,” “Dubai 101,” “US Furniture Market Report,” “Holiday 2015 Takeaways,” “Online Consignment Market,” and “Global Retail Loyalty Programs Report.” Fung Global Retail & Technology’s reports and analyses can be found at www.fbicroup.com and www.deborahweinswig.com.
