Fung Global Retail & Technology’s Deborah Weinswig to Moderate “Breakfast with The Disruptors” at PROJECT Conference, July 18

“Retail Technology’s Leading Lady” to lead distinguished panel of designers, retailers and tech innovators at 7:30 a.m. at Javits Center

NEW YORK – “Retail Technology’s Leading Lady,” Deborah Weinswig, will moderate a panel of major retailers, brands and technology mavens in the latest session of Fung Global Retail & Technology’s “Breakfast with The Disruptors” series, to be held Monday, July 18 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.

The panel, co-sponsored by First Insight, is to be held from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., and is part of the New York Men’s Marketplace comprised of PROJECT, PROJECT SOLE and the newly acquired MRketshow.

“Technology is not only changing how retailers interact with their shoppers, it’s changing how designers and brands create the products sold,” Weinswig says. “This panel will offer a full view of how the entire consumer experience is changing, based on their own cutting-edge experiences.

Panelists will include Greg Petro, CEO and Founder of First Insight; Lisa Gavales, CEO of Things Remembered; Joe Ferrara of Ferrara Manufacturing Co., and a board member of Body Labs and Tommy John; Scott Lux, Vice President of Digital and E-Commerce for John Varvatos; and David Yi, Fashion Editor of Mashable.

“The retail industry is ripe for disruption, and at its core will be innovative thinking and technology,” Petro says. “The perspectives of this group of retail and technology experts will provide a valuable 360-degree view of the relationship between technology and retail, and reveal how our collaboration will continue to grow and thrive in the future.”

With a focus on menswear, PROJECT showcases the best brands in the contemporary and denim market to create an expertly merchandised experience for buyers and press. The event serves as an important introduction to the American men’s market by combining engaging show-floor initiatives with a defined editorial perspective. Fung Global Retail & Technology is a co-sponsor of the panel.

“At PROJECT, our aim is to educate and provide critical business information for brands and retailers to educate themselves on the marketplace. With the ever-evolving landscape of technology, we felt partnering with Fung Global Retail & Technology to discuss digital innovation trends and incorporating these into brand and retail businesses would be beneficial this season,” says Erik Ulin, President of Men’s Fashion of UBM Americas, the largest business-to-business events and trade show organizer in the United States, and the organizer of PROJECT.

An advocate for innovation, creativity and the implementation of cutting-edge technologies, Weinswig joined Fung Global Retail & Technology (formerly FBIC Group) in 2014 to offer her unique viewpoints on the disruptive technology trends and innovations that are reshaping the global retail industry.
