FBICS WEINSWIG TO DISCUSS WEARABLE TECH AT NACDS TOTAL STORE EXPO AUGUST 24th

Executive Director and Head of Global Retail & Technology to offer insight at “Collision of Digital Health, The Consumer and Wearables” session

NEW YORK (August 22, 2015) -The impact of wearable technology and the aging of the Baby Boomers on retail will take center stage at the National Association of Chain Drug Stores’ Total Food Expo, when Fung Business Intelligence Centre Executive Director-Head of Global Retail & Technology Deborah Weinswig speaks at the Insight Session on “The Collision of Digital Health, The Consumer and Wearables,” being held Monday, August 24, 2015, at 8:00 a.m. Mountain Daylight Time at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver.

Weinswig will discuss how consumer behavior is being disrupted by digital health technologies, and that effect on retail going forward.

“Wearables not only are allowing consumers to remain healthier as they age, they can provide valuable information to retailers about who is shopping where in the stores,” Weinswig says. “This is a revolutionary time, and I’m thrilled to explore the opportunities that await.”

Now in its third year, the NACDS Total Store Expo, being held August 22 through 25, blends innovative programming and exhibits, enabling business partners to work together creatively across departments and functions, with an eye toward the entire store.

An advocate for innovation, creativity and the implementation of cutting-edge technologies, Weinswig joined FBIC in 2014 to offer her unique viewpoints on the disruptive technology trends and innovations that are reshaping the global retail industry. Recent reports issued by the group include: “Global Department Store Retailing,” “The Disruptor Series: Retail in the New Connected World,” “China Retail: Department Stores Reinvented,” and “A Booming Opportunity: Profiting from a Graying America.” All of the group’s reports and analyses can be found at www.fbicgroup.com and www.deborahweinswig.com.

Prior to joining FBIC, Weinswig’s experience as an award-winning Wall Street retail analyst has given her a global perspective on retail, retail real estate and technology, covering such retailers as Walmart, Target, Costco, Macy’s, Walgreens and The Home Depot. In addition, she advises startups working with retailers on digital strategies and other business and logistical issues.
